The Island Tour

What is the island trip about?

There are numerous excursions available on the island, ranging from boat trips to hot air balloon flights. Among these, my favorite is "The Island Tour." This excursion takes you through the northwest region, revealing the hidden gems of the Tramuntana mountains. The experience includes a scenic boat ride, a charming journey on the old tram, and a ride on the wooden train. The day concludes near Palma, the island's capital, where a coach will be ready to take you back.

The Trip Itself

The journey begins with a convenient pickup from designated collection points. You will be transported along scenic mountain roads to the renowned Sa Calobra, traveling along the iconic serpent-like road favored by cyclists. Upon arrival at the port area, you’ll have the opportunity to board the boat. While waiting for departure, explore a hidden beach nearby, or enjoy refreshments at several charming restaurants that offer a variety of drinks and snacks.

You will meet at the designated meeting point to begin the second part of your trip: a scenic boat ride along the coastline. This delightful journey offers stunning views of the many caves and picturesque landscapes you will encounter along the way. Onboard, there is a small counter where you can purchase coffee.

Your adventure will then take you to Port de Soller, a charming fishing village known for its exceptional fish restaurants, where you can savor some of the best seafood available. Aside from dining, there are various gift shops to explore. You will have some free time here to enjoy lunch and discover the village at your own pace.

After lunch, you will board the charming wooden tram to Soller, a delightful town known for its rich history. Constructed in 1912, the tram ride offers stunning views of the beach and the picturesque landscape adorned with fragrant orange and lemon trees, which this region of the island is renowned for.

Upon your arrival in Soller, you will have the opportunity to explore the town's hidden gems, including the striking Gothic-style church. Take your time wandering through the local shops, and perhaps enjoy a coffee at one of the many restaurant bars in the square, perfect for savoring the ambiance while people-watching.

After Finishing Your Coffee or Perhaps a Locally Made Orange Ice Cream

Once you finish your coffee or perhaps savor a locally made orange ice cream, it's time to board the old wooden train, built in 1912. Originally designed for transporting fruit to Palma, this charming train now serves as a popular tourist attraction, taking visitors on a scenic journey through the mountains, showcasing the island's stunning countryside.

As you embark on this unforgettable ride, you'll witness breathtaking views that truly highlight the beauty of Mallorca. After your adventure, you will be brought back to your designated collection point.

Final Thoughts

This excursion reveals a different side of the island, offering a delightful experience aboard the historic tram, train, and boat. It's a full day filled with exploration and discovery. Whenever guests visit, I always recommend this trip; it remains a favorite among many, and everyone enjoys the day spent immersed in the beauty of Mallorca.
