Rancho Grande Horse Riding Ranch
where is the ranch and what is it like?
The ranch is located just outside Can Picafort, near Son Serra de Maria, and is easily accessible from the main Alcudia to Arta road. With ample parking space, visitors can comfortably arrive by car. Spanning over 150 hectares, the ranch is home to more than 100 horses, alongside a variety of other animals in its petting zoo. If you’re not a horse rider, consider enjoying a delightful trip in the Sangria wagon for a unique experience.
The horse riding
There are various types of horses available for riders based on their experience level. The basic option is known as the 'Automatic' horse. As the name suggests, you simply sit back and enjoy the ride while the horse guides itself, requiring you to only hold the reins. For those with a bit more experience, we offer the 'Mini Turbo' horses, which provide a bit more energy for riders ready to engage. Additionally, the 'Turbo' horses are perfect for those looking to trot and enhance their riding experience.
If riding isn’t your preference, consider joining us on a trip in the Sangria Wagon. This allows you to travel alongside the horses while enjoying delicious sangria. After about an hour or two of riding or enjoying the wagon, you will return to the ranch for a delightful BBQ. The evening continues with line dancing followed by a spectacular show featuring talented dancers, ensuring a memorable experience for all.
The BBQ
Before the horse ride, you are inquired about your dietary requirements. Upon returning to the ranch, you can enjoy a refreshing drink while the barbecue is being prepared. Following this, a delicious barbecue awaits, featuring a variety of mouth-watering food options, capped off with a tempting serving of ice cream. After dinner, line dancing begins, led by an experienced teacher. It was quite amusing as many participants struggled to remember the steps. The evening culminates with an exciting main show, providing a vibrant end to the night.
My final thoughts
The evening was meticulously organized, and everyone had a wonderful time. The ranch itself was expansive, providing ample space for the horses to run and play freely. In addition to the horses, there were numerous other animals to observe, including ducks, local Mallorca pigs, and friendly cats. The staff members were exceptionally helpful and demonstrated a genuine passion for their work. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit; even as a non-rider, the staff assisted me with mounting and dismounting the horse, ensuring I felt safe throughout the experience.
